Ingredients
- 2 1/4 c. enriched flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3/4 c. dark brown sugar
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 1 c. sauerkraut, rinsed, drained and chopped
Method
- Stir together dry ingredients; reserve. Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs to creamed mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla. Stir in sauerkraut and nuts.
- Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch pan and bake in preheated 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Frost with Whipped Caramel Frosting.
