Ingredients

  • 6 c. freshly popped corn
  • 2 c. bite size rice cereal squares
  • 2 c. ring shaped oat cereal
  • 1 (6 1/2 oz.) can salted peanuts (1 c.)
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Mix popcorn, cereal and peanuts in large bowl.
  • Preheat oven to 250°.
  • Melt butter in a large saucepan; stir in brown sugar and corn syrup.
  • Heat slowly, stirring constantly to boiling.
  • Cook without stirring for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat; stir in soda and vanilla.
  • Drizzle over popcorn mixture; toss lightly until evenly coated.
  • Spoon into large shallow baking pan.
  • Bake, stirring several times, 1 hour.
  • Cool and store in a lightly covered container.
