Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburg
  • 4 to 5 cloves garlic
  • 3 to 4 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 2 to 3 stalks celery
  • 1 to 2 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1/2 head cabbage

Method

  • Chop celery and cabbage.
  • Brown hamburg.
  • Add celery, garlic and tomatoes.
  • One or 2 quarts of tomatoes can be used, but add equal amounts of water.
  • Dissolve bouillon cubes in mixture; add kidney beans, with juice.
  • Season with pepper; add cabbage.
  • Simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
