Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 qt. tomatoes and juice
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 qt. water
  • 1 (14 oz.) can kidney beans
  • 1/2 head chopped cabbage

Method

  • Brown hamburger and drain.
  • Add all other ingredients except cabbage.
  • Simmer 15 minutes.
  • Add cabbage; simmer until flavor is blended and cabbage is cooked.
  • The longer it simmers the better it tastes.
  • Can be frozen and then reheated (flavor improves).
