Ingredients

  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. light cream
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. water or milk (she used water)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs

Method

  • Combine sugar, 1/2 cup light cream, salt and flour.
  • Add well beaten eggs; mix thoroughly.
  • Add water or milk slowly, stirring constantly.
  • Cook over hot water until thick and smooth, then add butter and beat well.
  • Remove from fire and add vanilla.
  • Let cool.
  • Pour into a baked pie shell.
  • This makes 2 small or 1 large pie.
