Ingredients
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/3 c. white corn syrup
- few grains salt
- 1/2 c. cream
- 1/3 c. butter
- 3/4 c. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Mix white sugar, brown sugar, syrup and salt and cream together.
- Cook to boiling point, stirring constantly.
- Continue cooking over simmer same burner, stirring occasionally to 238° or until few drops form a soft ball when dropped into cold water. Remove from heat.
- Add butter; cool at temperature without stirring until lukewarm or until the hand can be held on bottom of pan.
- Add nuts and vanilla.
- Beat until candy will hold its shape.
- Drop from a teaspoon onto waxed paper.
- Makes about 3 dozen.
