Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter, margarine or shortening, melted
- 1 c. light brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. fine coconut or chopped walnuts
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Grease 8-inch cake pan well.
- Melt butter over low heat.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in sugar until blended. Cool.
- Stir in egg.
- Blend in sifted flour, salt and baking powder mixture.
- Mix in vanilla and coconut or nuts.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
- Do not overbake.
- Cut in bars while warm.
