Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Scrape bowl down.
  • Add flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Mix until soft dough forms.
  • Press dough into a greased 10x15x1-inch jelly roll pan.
  • Gently beat egg whites with fork until foamy.
  • Glaze dough with egg whites as needed to lightly cover.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts over egg whites.
  • Bake 375 for 20 minutes.
  • Cut into bars while warm, 1 1/2 x 3 inches in size.
