Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed (half light and half dark)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped medium-fine (walnuts or pecans)

Method

  • In small mixing bowl, beat egg until light and fluffy.
  • Add sugar and vanilla and stir until smooth.
  • Quickly stir in salt, soda and flour.
  • Add nuts and drop by teaspoonfuls on greased pan. Bake at 350° about 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.
  • Do not overbake.
