Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
  • 2 c. light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Method

  • Melt butter over low heat.
  • Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar.
  • Stir until blended.
  • Cool.
  • Add eggs stirring until blended.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and stir into mixture.
  • Add vanilla and nuts stirring until blended. Spread in well greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • Bake in 350° oven for 25 minutes or until slight imprint remains when touched with finger. Don't overbake.
  • Cut into bars or squares while still warm.
