Ingredients
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. instant chicken bouillon
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. half and half
- 8 oz. American cheese, cubed
Method
- Saute onion in margarine in saucepan for 5 minutes.
- Stir in flour.
- Add water, bouillon, garlic powder and pepper.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
- Add broccoli and milk.
- Simmer for 10 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
- Stir in half and half and cheese. Simmer until cheese is melted, stirring constantly.
- Serve hot. Yield:
- 8 servings.
- Can also use no-fat milk and cheese.
