Ingredients

  • softened margarine
  • 8 slices bread
  • 1 lb. pork sausage, cooked, drained and crumbled
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard

Method

  • Spread margarine on one side of bread.
  • Place 4 slices, buttered side down, in a lightly greased baking dish.
  • Put sausage on top of bread.
  • Top with 4 slices of bread, buttered side up. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Combine remaining ingredients; pour over sandwiches.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours.
  • Remove from refrigerator; let stand 30 minutes.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes.
