Ingredients

  • 1 gal. medium size cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 8 small onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 c. cooking salt
  • 5 c. weak cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed

Method

  • Combine cucumbers, onions, peppers and cooking salt and cover with water.
  • Let stand 3 hours.
  • Drain.
  • Bring to a boil the sugar, vinegar, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed. Add drained vegetables and just bring to a boil.
  • Put into sterilized jars and seal.
