Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 34 cup pastry flour
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar or 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • salt

Method

  • Beat egg whites till stuff - add and beat egg yolks.
  • Add sugar, water, and sifted flour with baking powder.
  • Add vinegar.
  • Bake in deep cake pan.
  • Split and fill with cream (custard) filling.
  • Whipped cream may be added on top or else sugar may be sprinkled over it.
  • Cream filling: Moisten with little water.
  • Beat one egg and add to mixture.
  • Add cup hot milk.
  • Cook in double boiler.
  • Flavor with lemon.
