Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. Chopped onion
  • 2 c. Chopped celery
  • 1 1/4 c. Peeled, seeded and chopped Cucumber
  • 8 lrg Cloves fresh garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 4 can 46 ounce. ea. tomato juice
  • 1 1/2 c. Lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 bot (fifth) Vodka
  • 1/2 c. Green onion, sliced

Method

  • Saute/fry onion, celery, cucumber and garlic in butter till soft.
  • Add in tomato juice, lemon juice, sugar, Tabasco and Worcestershire; simmer 7 to 8 min.
  • Chill.
  • Place vodka bottle in No.
  • 10 can filled with water; freeze till ice is solid.
  • Remove can but keep vodka surrounded in ice and wrapped in a towel.
  • To serve: portion soup into serving bowl.
  • Garnish with green onion.
  • Add in 1 ounce.
  • jigger of vodka per serving of soup at table.
