Ingredients
- 15ml lemon juice
- 120ml tomato juice
- Tabasco, to taste
- 1 cherry tomato
- 1 cocktail onion
- 1 large green olive
- 1 sprig rosemary
- For infused vodka:
- 30ml balsamic vinegar
- 1 bunch rosemary
- 5 cloves garlic
- 750ml vodka
- For Mary mix:
- 450ml Worcestershire sauce
- 5 tsp horseradish cream
- 30ml vermouth
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 120ml olive brine
- celery salt, to taste
Method
To infuse vodka, place balsamic vinegar, rosemary, garlic and vodka in a saucepan and heat to 45°C or just more than tepid. Allow to cool. Store.
To make Mary mix, combine all ingredients in a bowl.
To make a Bloody Italian, combine 45ml infused vodka and 20ml Mary mix with lemon and tomato juices and Tabasco in a Boston shaker. Roll (don't shake) until mixed. Serve with ice cubes in a tall chilled glass or a can. Garnish with a skewer of cherry tomato, cocktail onion and green olive and a rosemary sprig.
