Ingredients
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 c. light brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. toasted, chopped pecans
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. Beat in a bowl at medium speed the butter and sugar for 2 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt; stir into butter mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
- Spread in pan.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool completely in pan on wire rack before cutting.
- Makes 12 brownies.
