Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. strong black coffee
  • 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
  • Add eggs, coffee, milk, oil and vanilla all at once.
  • Beat 2 minutes at medium speed with electric mixer. Note:
  • Batter will be very thin.
  • Pour batter into a greased and lightly floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
