Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. sugar

Method

  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, salt, water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.
  • Mix until blended.
  • Fill cupcake papers 1/2 full.
  • Combine softened cheese, egg and sugar until fluffy.
  • Drop a large spoonful on top of each cupcake.
  • Add about 10 chocolate chips to each.
  • Bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes.
  • Makes about 20.
