Ingredients
- 2 c, all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 3/4 to 1 c. milk
Method
- Heat oven to 450°.
- In large bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Using fork or pastry blender cut shortening into flour mixture until consistency of coarse meal.
- Add milk, stir with fork until mixture leaves side of bowl and forms a soft, moist dough. On floured surface toss lightly until no longer sticky.
- Roll out 1/2 inch thick, cut with 2-inch floured cutter.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 450 ° for 8 to 12 minutes, or until light golden brown.
- Serve hot.
- Yields 12 to 14 biscuits.
