Ingredients

  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. shortening (1/2 butter)
  • 1 c. Mazola oil
  • 1 Tbsp. buttermilk
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. quick oats
  • 1 c. corn flakes
  • 1 c. coconut
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Cream sugars and shortening.
  • Add oil and buttermilk alternately with 3 cups flour and remaining dry ingredients.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Mix remaining 1 cup flour with the last 4 ingredients, then add to first mixture.
  • Bake in 350° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
