Ingredients

  • 3 (3-inch) pieces stick cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1 whole nutmeg or 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. orange juice
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. apple brandy
  • 8 c. apple cider

Method

  • Tie cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a small piece of cheesecloth.
  • Combine with cider and sugar in large saucepan; simmer 15 minutes and remove spice bag.
  • Stir in orange and lemon juices.
  • Heat until bubbling.
  • Pour into heated punch bowl; add small oranges studded with whole cloves for garnish.
  • Add apple brandy if wanted.
