Ingredients

  • 3 cardamom
  • 3 cloves
  • 2 small cinnamon sticks
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 12 star anise
  • 12 teaspoon cumin seed
  • 12 piece ginger
  • 1 garlic, piece
  • 2 long green chilies
  • 13 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 13 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 13 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 12 red onion, sliced length wise
  • 2 beetroots, grated
  • 1 12 rice cup basmati rice
  • 12 teaspoon salt

Method

  • Soak Basmati rice for 20 minutes.
  • Heat oil.
  • Add first set of spices(Cardamon, Star anise, cloves, cumin,cinnamon, bay leaves).
  • Add onions.
  • After frying add ginger garlic and green chilies.
  • Add beetroot grated.Fry beetroot.
  • Add salt.
  • Add soaked rice and 2-3 cups water.
  • Add chili powder, Garam masala, turmeric.
  • Keep stirring now and then and wait till rice is cooked n fluffy.
  • Goes very well with cucumber raita.
