Ingredients

  • 5 lb. of beef short ribs
  • 1 14OZ. can beef broth
  • 1 12OZ. bottle of light
  • dark beer
  • 1 md. onion, peeled and cut into thin wedges.
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 Tablespoons balasamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp. dried crushed thyme
  • 1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Put short ribs into a 5-6 quart slow cooker.
  • Add broth,beer,onion, molasses,vinegar,thyme,hot pepper sauce and salt.
  • Cover and cook on low-heat for 11-12 hours.
  • Or on high setting for six hours.
  • Using a pair of tongs remove the short ribs and cover with foil to keep warm.
  • Skim the fat from the broth.
