Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef round steak (cut 1" thick)
  • 2 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 c. onion slices
  • 1 c. green bell peppers
  • 1 c. red bell peppers
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry basil leaves
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

  • Heat oil in large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add in onion, green and red peppers, 1 clove garlic and basil; stir-fry 7-8 min or possibly till tender- crisp.
  • Remove, keep hot.
  • Rub remaining garlic and the black pepper over both sides of beef top round steak.
  • Add in steak to same pan; pan broil over medium- high heat to desired doneness, 15-20 min, turning once.
  • Sprinkle salt over both sides of steak.
  • Carve steak diagonally across the grain into thin slices; serve with vegetables.
  • Makes 4 servings.
