Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. lean beef
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 small onions, minced
  • 1 c. beef broth
  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. dry white wine
  • salt & pepper

Method

  • Cut meat into strips and sprinkle with salt & pepper.
  • In large pan, make a paste with margarine and flour until it turns golden brown.
  • Slowly pour broth into pan, stirring constantly. Bring to boil; add salt & pepper; set aside.
  • Fry onion in butter, add meat and gently fry until brown.
  • Add to flour mixture and add wine.
  • Cook gently 1 1/4 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Wash & cut mushrooms; add to pan.
  • Cook another 30 minutes; lower heat; add sour cream.
