Ingredients

  • 1 large brisket (not corned beef)
  • Kitchen Bouquet
  • Liquid Smoke
  • celery salt
  • garlic salt
  • Lawry's seasoned salt
  • pepper
  • barbecue sauce (optional)

Method

  • Trim all fat off brisket.
  • Cover 1 side with Kitchen Bouquet; rub in evenly.
  • Add small amount of Liquid Smoke; rub it in evenly. Sprinkle with celery salt, garlic salt, seasoned salt and pepper. Repeat on other side.
  • Seal tightly in aluminum foil and place in baking dish.
  • Cook at 225° for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Let cool.
  • Cut with electric knife across the grain.
  • Arrange in baking dish.
  • Add lightly, barbecue sauce, and bake on low heat 10 to 20 minutes until warm.
  • Serve hot.
  • Leftovers make great sandwiches.
