Ingredients

  • 4 c. raw potatoes
  • 1/4 c. sliced onion
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 3/4 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. soda crackers or rolled oats
  • 1/4 c. ketchup or chili sauce

Method

  • Arrange sliced potatoes and 1 teaspoon onion in greased 2-quart baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper and parsley.
  • Combine ground beef, milk, crackers, ketchup, remaining onion and seasonings.
  • Spread over sliced potatoes. Decorate with additional ketchup, if desired.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Makes 6 servings.
