Ingredients
- 3/4 c. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
Method
- In bowl, stir together first 5 ingredients.
- Add water and egg; stir until smooth. Dip cut up vegetables, such as zucchini, carrots, onion, mushrooms or boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes.
- Dip into mixture before placing vegetables or meat into hot oil.
- Makes a wonderful light and crispy fried vegetable.
