Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. dry or 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar
  • 12 cooked thin slices beef

Method

  • In large skillet, cook onion in margarine until tender.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients except beef and buns.
  • Heat to boiling; simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until beef is heated through.
  • Serve on warm buns.
  • Makes 6 servings.
