Ingredients
- 1 c. water
- 3/4 c. soy sauce
- 2/3 c. dry sherry
- 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
- 3 to 4 lb. spareribs
- 6 cloves minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp. grated ginger
- 2 tsp. 5 Spice powder
- cayenne pepper
Method
- Place ribs in large saucepan.
- Cover and simmer 45 minutes. Combine other ingredients and simmer in another saucepan for 1/2 hour.
- Drain ribs, cut in portions.
- Pour marinade over ribs and let soak for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Broil or grill until crisp and browned.
- Brush frequently as you are browning ribs.
