Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 t, baking soda
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. nutmeg
  • 3/4 t. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. mashed bananas
  • 1 1/2 c. rolled oats
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (opt)

Method

  • Combine dry ingredients and set aside.
  • Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and bananas. Slowly add the dry ingredients. Add the oats and nuts by hand, mixing thoroughly.
  • Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden and fragrant.
