Ingredients
- 2 1/3 c. self-rising flour
- 1 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 c. mashed bananas (about 3 medium)
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- 2/3 c. finely chopped nuts
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Grease and flour oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inches.
- Beat all ingredients in large mixer bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly 30 seconds.
- Beat on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally 3 minutes.
- Pour into pan.
- Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, oblong 45 to 50 minutes. Cool.
- Frost with vanilla butter frosting.
