Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 c. soft butter (not melted)
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/3 c. nuts (pecans or walnuts; optional)

Method

  • Cream butter.
  • Add mashed bananas.
  • Blend in egg; beat well. Add combined dry ingredients.
  • Blend thoroughly with electric mixer on low speed.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Spread in well-greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
