Ingredients
- 2 lb. fresh okra
- butter
- 1 1/2 lb. lean lamb, cubed
- 2 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large can tomato sauce
- 1 lemon
- 1 tsp. kuzbara (coriander seed)
Method
- Wash okra; cut off tops of stem.
- Fry or broil okra in a small amount of butter or oil.
- Brown lamb in butter.
- Add water, spices, tomato sauce and garlic.
- Cook slowly in covered saucepan until meat is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Add browned okra, juice of lemon and cook slowly 5 minutes.
- Serve with rice (Shiriah).
