Ingredients
- 2 lb. lean beef, cut into small pieces
- 2 c. onions, diced
- 2 c. potatoes, quartered
- 2 c. carrots, cut in chunks
- 2 c. celery, cut large
- 1 can sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 2 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 5 Tbsp. tapioca
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 3 c. V-8 juice
Method
- Place all ingredients in order given in large roaster or Dutch oven with tight fitting lid.
- Bake at 250° for 5 to 6 hours.
- No browning is necessary.
- When done, the gravy is thick and brown. Stew may also be cooked on top burner over low heat in a very heavy roaster.
- Stir occasionally.
