Ingredients
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Combine hot milk, salt, sugar and shortening.
- Let cool to room temperature.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water; add to cooled mixture.
- Add egg and flour.
- Mix and set aside to rise 1 time, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Shape and let rise 1 hour. Bake in a 400° oven for 18 to 20 minutes.
