Ingredients

  • 1 each pizza dough about 16-inch, prefer whole wheat
  • 1 x olive oil, extra-virgin for brushing
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese prefer fresh, sliced, or shredded
  • 1 bunch asparagus ends trimmed and well washed and dry
  • 5 1/2 ounces cream cheese prefer garlic-herb seasoned, or any your favorite flavor, or plain
  • 1 x black pepper freshly ground

Method

  • Preheat oven to 450 F.
  • Stretch your pizza dough into a large circle 16 inches in diameter and arrange on your pizza pan or stone.
  • Brush dough with about 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Place sliced or shredded mozzarella cheese in a single layer over dough.
  • Shave asparagus into ribbons with a vegetable peeler.
  • Place shaved asparagus over the mozzarella.
  • The asparagus will get thinner and smaller during baking in the oven.
  • Top asparagus with several some freshly ground black pepper and dot generously with cream cheese.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes or until crust turns into golden brown.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes.
  • Slice and serve warm.
