Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. margarine or shortening (butter Crisco flavor)
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 (21 oz.) can apple filling (may use blueberry, etc.)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • cinnamon
  • 10x sugar

Method

  • Add eggs and shortening to flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, vanilla and salt; mix well.
  • Take 3/4 of mixture and press into ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Cover with 1 can fruit.
  • Mix remainder of mixture with brown sugar.
  • Sprinkle evenly over fruit.
  • Bake in 350° oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon and/or powdered sugar when cooled.
  • Cut into squares and put in cupcake papers to serve.
