Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 medium size apples (6 c. sliced)
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Method

  • Slice apples into enough water to cover them.
  • Drain off water.
  • Sprinkle with lemon juice and set aside.
  • Mix remaining ingredients in a saucepan and add apples.
  • Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Pour into prepared pie shell.
  • Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 350° and bake for 40 minutes or until crust is brown.
