Ingredients

  • 6 C. Apples, peeled, thin sliced and pared
  • 3\4 C. Sugar
  • 1\2 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1\4 C. Flour
  • 1\2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • Dash of Salt
  • 2 Pie Crusts, uncooked

Method

  • Combine sugar, nutmeg, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Add apples, mix well. Turn into pastry lined pie plate. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust, making slits. Seal and flute. Cover edges with 2 strip of foil, to prevent excessive browning. Remove foil the last 15 min. of baking time. Bake at 425° for 40-50 min. until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble thru crust slits.
