Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine, softened
  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix (2 layers)
  • 1 (20 oz.) can pie sliced apples
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 egg, beaten

Method

  • Cut the softened margarine into the dry cake mix.
  • Put this mixture into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Build up the edges slightly.
  • Bake this for 10 minutes at 350°.
  • Drain most of the juice from the canned apples.
  • Arrange the slices over the top of the partially cooled baked crust.
  • Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over top of apples.
  • Combine sour cream and beaten egg. Drizzle over top of apples and sugar.
  • Bake 25 minutes at 350° until edges are light brown.
  • Do not over bake.
  • Cut in squares and serve warm.
