Ingredients
- 3 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 c. sugar, divided
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. margarine
Method
- Arrange apple slices evenly in pastry shell.
- Combine cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar.
- Stir well, and sprinkle mixture over apples. Combine flour and remaining sugar, stir well.
- Cut margarine into flour mixture with a pastry blender (I use my fingers, works well) until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Sprinkle over apples.
- Bake at 400° for 40 to 50 minutes.
- Yields one 9-inch pie.
