- 1/2 cup butter soft
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups flour sifted
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups apples peeled and chopped, fresh peaches, plums, cherries or berries may also be used
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup bisquick or pancake m
- 1 cup sugar
Method
- Cream butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream and vanilla in large mixing bowl.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
- Stir flour mixture into butter mixture and blend until smooth.
- Combine apples, cinnamon and sugar in small bowl.
- Spread half of the batter into lightly greased 9 inch square pan.
- Top with apple mixture.
- Spread remaining cake batter on top of apples.
- In a small bowl, blend butter, flours and sugar to make crumbs with pastry blender or large fork. Mixture should be crumbly.
- Top cake with crumbs. Lightly dust crumbs with cinnamon.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until cake tests done with toothpick.
