Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 or 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 apple, pared and sliced

Method

  • Combine first 3 ingredients and set aside.
  • Mix sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla.
  • Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream.
  • Spread half the batter on well-greased pan, all apples and half the cinnamon/nut mixture.
  • Add rest of mixture and put remaining cinnamon mixture on top.
  • Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until done when tested.
