Ingredients

  • 2 granny smith apples
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 10 12 inches slice goat cheese
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 10 basil leaves

Method

  • Using a sharp knife, slice apples into 5 slices from each of two sides of the core, yielding 20 round slices.
  • In a bowl, gently toss apples with lemon juice to coat and set aside.
  • Place half of the apple slices on a work surface and place a round of goat cheese in the middle of each.
  • Garnish with pepper and a basil leaf.
  • Cover with another slice of apple and gently press together.
