Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. warm water
  • 5 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine with remaining ingredients.
  • Mix well.
  • To bake, roll dough to about 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter or drop by spoon onto baking sheet that has been sprayed lightly with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Dough can be stored in the refrigerator and used as needed.
