Ingredients
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 roll or 2 slices bread
- 1 egg
- 1 envelope brown gravy mix
- 1 1/2 c. water
- shortening
- nutmeg
- salt and pepper
Method
- Soak roll or bread slices in water.
- Soak out excess water and mix well with hamburger, onion, egg, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Shape into round patties approximately 2 1/2-inches in diameter. Brown both sides in hot shortening.
- Set patties on platter and drain grease.
- Add gravy mix and water to pan and cook and stir until thickened.
- Add patties and simmer 15 minutes.
