Ingredients

  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 4 1/2 c. sifted flour

Method

  • Combine sugars, margarine and oil.
  • Beat well.
  • Add eggs and beat again.
  • Stir in soda, cream of tartar, vanilla and almond flavoring.
  • Add flour, a little at a time.
  • Form small balls (large hickory nut size) and drop on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten with a fork or the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes until slightly brown.
  • Makes lots of cookies that melt in your mouth!
