- 1 lb. round ground beef
- 2 c. sliced onions
- 1 1/2 c. sliced celery
- 1 can bean sprouts
- 1 can water chestnuts, drained (optional)
- 1 can pineapple chunks
- salt and pepper
- garlic salt
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. molasses
- 1/8 tsp. ginger
- cornstarch
Method
- Cook onions and celery in a small amount of oil.
- Add beef. Simmer until beef is nearly done.
- Add seasonings, salt, pepper, garlic salt, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon molasses, oil from beef, celery, onions and 1/8 teaspoon ginger.
- Add water from bean sprouts, chestnuts and pineapple chunks.
- Thicken with cornstarch.
- Add bean sprouts last.
- Serve with Chinese noodles on cooked rice.
